On April 18, a medium-temperature preheater - the first heavy equipment of Indonesia Lygend OBI Nickel Cobalt Project undertaken by PT.THE SIXTH CHEMICAL ENIGNEERING CONSTRUCTION (Indonesia branch of CC6) - was successfully hoisted, marking the start of the lifting work of the project. The project is located on OBI Island, North Maluku, Indonesia. It adopts the world's advanced high-pressure acid leaching process to carry out wet smelting of laterite nickel ore. After completion and commissioning, it will annually produce 240,000 tons of nickel and cobalt hydroxide, which can be used on production of ternary precursor anode materials of batteries for new energy vehicles.
There are 12 heavy lifting equipment in total, among which the heaviest one weighs 128 tons, the maximum diameter is 6.6 meters, the maximum height is 15.4 meters, and the maximum installation elevation is 23.2 meters. The lifting work will be completed around 10 days with a 500 tons crawler crane as the main crane and 260 tons crawler crane as the auxiliary one.
