On February 25, 29 Vietnamese welders were brought to the project site of OBI Nickel-Cobalt Project, which effectively alleviated the shortage of on-site labor caused by inaccessible domestic skilled workers under the influence of COVID 19. Furthermore, this action has opened the channel for the Indonesian branch to bring in Vietnamese labor to Indonesia legally, and accumulated valuable experiences for subsequent introduction widely and systematically.
To ensure the skill level of workers, Indonesia branch sent people to Vietnam to supervise the welding skills assessment and personnel screening, all workers are required to hold 1-year working visa.
The Vietnamese workers could work after they passed the medical examinations and safety training when arriving the site. It would significantly reduce the shortage of skilled domestic workers, and reduce project construction labor costs.
