On September 18, the Second Installation Company of China National Chemical Engineering Sixth Construction Co., Ltd. (CC6) successfully completed the hoisting of the rotary kiln for the DCP Unit at the Kazakhstan EuroChem Project.
Located in Zhanatas, Jambyl Region, Kazakhstan, the project is expected to help the country shift from resource extraction and exports toward the deeper processing of chemical products and higher value-added production. It will promote the upgrading of Kazakhstan’s chemical industry, contribute to local economic and social development, and provide technical expertise and momentum for the sustainable development of the country’s chemical sector. The Second Installation Company is responsible for all civil engineering, installation, electrical and instrumentation, anti-corrosion, and thermal insulation works for the project’s DCP unit.
The DCP rotary kiln installed during this phase was delivered in two sections, with a total length of 27 meters and a total weight of 160 tonnes. A 650-tonne mobile crane was used to lift the sections into position for assembly on the foundation. With construction underway on the frames on both sides of the rotary kiln, the available working space was extremely limited. To address these challenges, the project team planned the lifting area in advance, prepared a detailed hoisting plan, and established vehicle access and travel routes. Through careful preparation and coordinated execution, the team successfully completed the hoisting operation.
