On April 16 (local time), the first 400kV main transformer for the Oman Duqm Energy Storage Project, jointly undertaken by the Northwest Branch and the Electrical & Instrumentation Branch of CC6, was successfully hoisted and positioned into place. This event marks the project's official entry into the electrical equipment installation phase.
The Oman Duqm 500MW/2,000MWh Energy Storage Project, spearheaded by the Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC), is a grid-side energy storage facility. Served as the core stabilizer for the Oman North-South Interconnection System (RABT), the project will provide reliable power for local industrial zones and facilitate cross-regional peak shaving and valley filling. CC6 is responsible for the construction, installation, and commissioning of the step-up substation, battery energy storage system area E, perimeter walls and internal roads.
