At 10:18 local time on March 12, OBI Nickel Cobalt Project Nickel Sulfate Plant Phase 1 contracted by PT.THE SIXTH CHEMICAL ENIGNEERING CONSTRUCTION (Indonesia branch of CC6) officially commenced. Representatives of Lygend, HPAL Joint Venture, Chongqing CISDI and CC6 attended the ceremony.

The project is the second cooperation between CC6 and Lygend on basis of the Hydrometallurgical Nickel and Cobalt Project. This project annually produces 160,000 tons of nickel sulfate and 20,000 tons of cobalt sulfate for the production of ternary batteries for new energy vehicles based on the deep-process of hydroxide nickel and cobalt – the intermediate product of wet smelting.

On the ceremony, Mr. He Zhibiao, the representative of CC6, expressed his deep gratitude towards the owner for his trust and promised to make the nickel sulfate project a benchmark on the Obi island under the premise of doing a good job in the on-going wet smelting project. The owner's representative expressed his recognition of CC6’s work during the outbreak and hoped that CC6 would make persistent efforts to complete quality construction work on schedule.

During the outbreak, CC6 successfully balanced the hard work of epidemic prevention and construction. Our work was highly appraised and reported by CNCEC and SASAC.
